The Journal of Asian and African Studies was founded in 1965 by K. Ishwaran (1928-1997), Professor Emeritus, York University to further research and study on Asia and Africa.
JAAS is a peer reviewed journal of area studies recognised for consistent scholarly contributions to cutting-edge issues and debates. The journal welcomes articles, research communiations, and book reviews that focus on the dynamics of global change and development of Asian and African nations, societies, cultures, and the global community.
African and Asian Studies has rapidly established itself as a leading social sciences journal dealing with topical issues, providing cutting-edge research and introducing key theoretical debates on African and Asian polities and societies in a truly multidisciplinary, multicultural and comparative perspective.
